Di Resta fastest in Le Mans free practise

Paul di Resta has set the fastest time during the free practise session this morning at Le Mans. Just like yesterday, the top drivers were very close together. This time, Di Resta was just 0.082s faster than runner up Mattias Ekström. Bruno Spengler finished in third, a tenth slower than Ekström.

Tom Kristensen, who was fastest yesterday in the second test, today finished in fourth, just ahead of championship leader Timo Scheider.

The complete top eight consisted of 2008 cars. Fastest man in a 2007 car was Audi-driver Markus Winkelhock in nineth. Best 2007 Mercedes driver was Gary Paffett, who was down in 13th. Christijan Albers was the best 2006 car driver in 14th.

Maro Engel, who had an accident in yesterdays second test, managed to recover to 15th during this mornings session. He drove 20 laps, most of all the drivers.

Qualifying will start at 13:28 CET.
