Tomczyk stays on top at Hockenheim

Martin Tomczyk keeps the pace at Hockenheim. The german topped the free practice ahead of qualifying today, putting a lap of 1:33.140. He was closely followed by outgoing champion Mattias Ekström, only 0.092 seconds behind. Title fighters Timo Scheider and Paul di Resta followed each other closely as well, with Scheider third and di Resta fourth. Only 0.007 seconds separated the both.

Tom Kristensen was fifth ahead of manufacturer-colleauge Mike Rockenfeller sixth. Mercedes-duo Jamie Green and Bruno Spengler took seventh and eigth respectively.

Ninth was Maro Engel in the JungeSterne AMG Mercedes C-Class. Markus Winkelhock rounded off top ten, 0.916 seconds behind Tomczyk’s time.
