Another fastest for Ekström in warm-up

Another fastest time for Mattias Ekström during this morning warm-up session, ahead of the season opener at Hockenheim. His time of 1:34.219 was almost 2 seconds slower than his pole setting qualifying lap yesterday, allowing Mercedes to get closer to him. Bruno Spengler, in a Mercedes, was just 0.010s slower than the Swede, taking second position in the warm-up session.

After he failed to qualify because he damaged his engine in practise yesterday when he hit a curbstone, Jamie Green went out this morning to make sure his car was working for this afternoons race.

He finished the session in fourth, behind reigning champion Timo Scheider.

Mike Rockenfeller was fifth fastest ahead of 2009 specification Audi drivers Martin Tomczyk and Tom Kristensen.

14 drivers finished within one second of the fastest man.
