Timo Scheider on pole position at Norisring
Timo Schieder claimed pole position for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race at Norisring. The reigning champion’s best lap was 49.012, beating his team mate Mattias Ekström with 0.111 seconds.
Third fastest and best Mercedes man was Canadian Bruno Spengler, only 0.036 seconds behind Ekström.
Gary Paffet claimed fourth on the twisty street track with the time 49.329.
Jamie Green took fifth ahead of the improving Maro Engel in sixth. Ralf Schumacher was seventh and last of the Mercedes driver in top seven.
Katherine Legge took a strong eight ahead of Tom Kristensen and Paul Di Resta.
