Bruno Spengler pleased to be second
Bruno Spengler had a good weekend at Norisring, scoring a second place and moving up to second in the championship.
“It was a very good weekend! I was not far from a victory, but I am still very happy with the result,” said Spengler on his website.
Spengler started third and was able to move up one place thanks to a good pit stop strategy.
Spengler was fighting hard with Timo Scheider for the lead, but went wide as he had got up in to the lead was passed by both Scheider and race winner Jamie Green.
“Scheider was very difficult to overtake, the Audi was very fast on the straights. When I moved to the inside to defend my position, I locked my rear wheels as the track was dirty,” said Spengler.
The Canadian looked set for third for a while, but was able to follow Green past Scheider as the Brit took over the lead.
“Jamie made a great move on the Audi and I could pass as well. This result was very important for the championship and I am looking forward to Zandvoort,” said Spengler.
