One step closer to new rules in 2011

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters organization has seemingly taken one step closer to new rules for the 2011 season. According to Motorsport Aktuell the plan is to freeze the development of the cars after this season and that no development what so ever is allowed for 2010. This would be to reduce the costs ahead of the introduction of the new and cost cutting rules for 2011.

The DTM organization is reported to have a meeting in Frankfurt tomorrow where Audi, Mercedes and ITR are going to be present for discussions of these plans.

The main plans of new rules, as we have reported earlier, are to reduce costs and aerodynamics.

The current DTM regulations have been found to give too expensive cars that are too dependent of fragile aerodynamics.
