Schumacher won’t stick his head in the sand
Previous Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher took his best ever result, sixth, in the previous Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race at Norisring. For the coming race at Zandvoort, the German is looking to move up the list even more.
“After securing my best DTM race result to date at the Norisring, of course I want to move further up the field in the next races,” said Schumacher.
Despite rather modest results for Mercedes at Zandvoort in the past, Schumacher is going to fight for it.
“Even if we don’t exactly “own” the circuit at Zandvoort based on previous results, I can assure you we won’t be sticking our head in the sand dunes and will be in attacking on the day.”
Last year Schumacher finished 12th in the race after starting a low 19th.
“My 19th place in qualifying at Zandvoort last year was a disaster, but I still managed to climb seven places during the race. I have learned from last year’s mistakes.”
