Ekström tops Zandvort warm up

Mattias Ekström was fastest in the warm up for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race at Zandvoort. The Swede lapped the track in 1:33.727, only 0.063 seconds ahead of Mercedes man Gary Paffett. Third, and fastest of the 2008 specification cars, was Alexandre Prémat.

Fourth fastest was Paul di Resta ahead of reigning champion Timo Scheider.

Markus Winkelhock claimed sixth ahead of Mike Rockenfeller and pole man Oliver Jarvis.

The warm up session was shortened due to Christian Bakkerud. Eight minutes ahead of the session end the Dane spun off the track and hit the barriers.

The session was red flagged due to the incident and was not resumed.
