Tomczyk leads as Audi dominate practice

Audi have dominated the free practice session at the Nürburgring. In a largely uneventful session, Martin Tomczyk topped the times, and was followed by five other Audi drivers.

Tomczyk stopped the clock with a time of 1:24.112, in the session where the top fourteen drivers were separated by less than one second.

He led fellow Audi drivers Timo Scheider, Markus Winkelhock, Mattias Ekström, Alexandre Prémat and Oliver Jarvis, with the highest placed Mercedes being that of Jamie Green in 7th.

The session was stopped temporarily after 35 minutes, when Katherine Legge crashed at the first corner. The car suffered heavy damage, but is expected to be repaired in time for qualifying.

The practice session was run in glorious weather, with more of the same forecast for the rest of the day and tomorrow.
