The reference cars for 2010 are set
The cars that are going to be used as reference for the frozen regulations of next year have been identified. The Audi cars of Timo Scheider and Mike Rockenfeller, plus the Mercedes cars of Jamie Green and Bruno Spengler were sealed after the race at Nürburgring.
During next week the DMSB are going to use those cars to create reference parts that the teams have to use next year.
The DSMB announced two weeks ago that the regulations and development of the cars for 2010 are going to be freezed to reduce costs and prepare for new rules.
“With its thrilling races, the current season has demonstrated the extreme competitiveness of the vehicles entered by Audi and Mercedes-Benz, the two manufacturers involved in DTM,” said ITR Chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht.
“I appreciate the decision made in cooperation with DMSB to do without expensive new developments for the year 2010 and contest the coming season with the vehicles that also have been raced this year. This decision offers us planning dependability for next year and enough time to develop new regulations for the 2011 DTM season.”
