Paul di Resta on pole at Brands

British driver Paul di Resta has taken pole position for tomorrow’s DTM race at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in style, setting the fastest time in three of the four qualifying segments, just ahead of championship leader Timo Scheider to stage a repeat of last year’s race long fight.

Last year, Timo Scheider took pole from di Resta, and the two fought throughout the race, but the young scot never had the chance to pass.

This year, the roles are reversed, though this time di Resta has less of a championship to worry about after a tough start to the season.

Mattias Ekström has qualified seventh, meaning he’ll be the one to watch tomorrow to stop title rival Timo Scheider running away with the points tomorrow.

Mercedes-Benz top qualifyer Bruno Spengler will line-up fourth, as the top Mercedes driver in the standings and local racer Gary Paffett will start sixth.
