Seidlitz punished for Schumacher incident
Kolles Futurecom-TME driver Johannes Seidlitz has been penalized for blocking Mercedes-Benz driver Ralf Schumacher during the first qualifying heat at Brands Hatch. The young German was handed an ineffectual five place penalty and fine for his infraction.
Seidlitz explained he just didn’t see the ex-Formula 1 racer to the race stewards.
Seidlitz had already qualified in last place, so the position penalty doesn’t affect him – but he was also served with a 2,000 Euro fine for the incident.
Ralf managed to set another lap which at least got him into Q2, and eventually qualified in 11th place.
“At this short circuit, the times are very close together; therefore, I am still quite satisfied with my performance and my result – there were races when it was worse.
In tomorrow’s race everything will be possible and I expect an exciting fight. Congratulations to my team mate Paul on his pole.”
