What are the chances for Gary Paffett to snatch the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters title from Timo Scheider? Mercedes versus Audi, everything is going to be settled this weekend at Hockenheim. Paffett is seven points behind Scheider and there are ten points left to fight for.
If the Brit is going to take the title he needs to finish first or second in the race.
If Paffett wins the race, Scheider needs to finish fifth. If Paffett is second, Scheider needs a seventh place to secure that the title stays at Audi.
Audi could become historical by taking a third straight DTM title. Mattias Ekström beat Mercedes man Bruno Spengler in 2007 and Scheider beat Paul Di Resta last year.
If Audi secures the title this year they will become the first manufacturer ever to take three consecutive titles in the history of DTM.
