Final DTM race ever for Kristensen

Danish racing ace Tom Kristensen is doing his last ever Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race at Hockenheim this weekend. Last time the DTM visited that track, Kristensen won the race in style.
“Now, if I only knew who won the first race of the season at Hockenheim, I’d say I’d try and do the same thing at my last DTM race …” said Kristensen.

Kristensen is going to focus on sports car racing after this season and puts a six year long DTM career to an end.

During his years in the German championship he racked up four wins, nine pole positions, 18 podium finishes and four fastest laps.

2005 and 2006 became his best seasons when he finished third in the championship both years.

Despite his retirement, Kristensen is looking forward to the finale at Hockenheim.

“I look forward to Hockenheim, that’ll be super. For the spectators, too, it’ll probably be a dream round. We’ve got a very good chance with Audi and of course I’m hoping for Timo (Scheider) to be able to win the championship there,” said Kristensen.
