Paffett expects to continue in 2010

Despite several new teams in F1 in 2010, Gary Paffett doesn’t expect to be lining up on the grid next season, and expects to compete again in the DTM next year.

Paffett hasn’t yet been confirmed to keep his role at McLaren, which if he is, would mean the team would have an astonishing all British line-up.

Speaking to Kent News, Gary says:
“Working with both Jenson and Lewis in an entirely British team will be a great opportunity. The hype that will be around the British Grand Prix being a completely British team is something I want to experience.”

In regards to lining up with any of the other F1 teams, or staying in the DTM, Gary ponders:
“I am looking at my options, but to be honest another year in the DTM championship seems to be the most likely. There are more Formula One teams in the paddock, but it is just as difficult to get drives. With manufacturers leaving, there are still as many drivers looking to earn deals.”

Gary Paffett is expected to retain his seat in the HWA team if he does remain in the DTM – though it’s expected that Mercedes will shuffle their line-up in the 2010 specification cars to give them a better shot at the title against Audi.
