Cong Fu Cheng rumored for Mercedes drive

Chinese racer Cong Fu Cheng is according to Motorsport-Total up for a drive with Mercedes in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters 2010. The German series is going to host the season finale in Shanghai, the largest city in China and the world with 13 million inhabitants.

Cheng is supposed to drive a third Mercedes C-Class in the Persson team, alongside Susie Stoddart and Jamie Green, as a part of the DTM expansion in China.

The Chinese tested for Mercedes, at the same time as David Coulthard, in Portugal a couple of months ago.

Cheng has previously driven in the Formula 3 Euro Series and A1GP as well as the Nürburgring 24 hour race.

If Cheng joins Mercedes in the DTM, he would become the first ever Chinese to take part in the German series.
