Engel and Mercedes tops day two at Valencia

Maro Engel took over the top position at the official Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters testing at Valencia. The Mercedes driver lapped the Spanish track in 1:28.949, just eight thousand of a second ahead of reigning double champion Timo Scheider.

Three Audi’s followed Engel with Mattias Ekström in third and newcomer Miguel Molina.

Bruno Spengler was fifth fastest ahead of former Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher, 0.256 and 0.396 seconds behind respectively.

Chinese Mercedes test driver Chong Fu Cheng was slowest once again, but closed the gap and was just sixth tenths behind Engel’s fastest time.
