Scheider heads Audi 1-2-3 at Hockenheim

Reigning champion Timo Scheider sets the pace in the first practice session of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters premiere at Hockenheim. Second fastest was Martin Tomczyk, four tenths slower, ahead of Mattias Ekström, making it Audi 1-2-3.

Jamie Green was fastest Mercedes driver in fourth place, ahead of Mike Rockenfeller.

Bruno Spengler was sixth fastest and first to be outside one second of the fastest time of the day.

The session was interrupted for ten minutes due to Audi newcomer Miguel Molina crashing hard with his Audi A4. The Spaniard was okay, while his car sustained a lot of damage.

The DTM premiere weekend resumes tomorrow at 09.30 CET for another free practice session.
