Ekström thrilled with successful NASCAR test

Swedish DTM ace Mattias Ekström was thrilled after a successful NASCAR test at Virginia International Raceway.
“Pure madness and a true adventure for every motor race,” said Ekström.

The double DTM champion was impressed with the NASCAR machinery, to say the least.

“I had expected a lot but all my expectations were exceeded, nevertheless. Racing a car with 900bhp represented a completely new dimension for me. I promise: never again will I complain about a lack of traction in DTM. After all, you have to cope with wheel spin even in fourth gear, in a NASCAR vehicle,” said Ekström.

Ekström got a lot of driving in the Red Bull sponsored NASCAR vehicle and hinted that his times were competitive.

“On the first five laps I didn’t dare too much but after 10 I really got going. There was no official time-keeping but we were competitive,” said Ekström.
