Di Resta heads Mercedes 1-2 in Brands qualifying

Paul Di Resta maintained his strong form from the earlier test sessions at Brands Hatch and claimed pole position for Mercedes. Championship leader Bruno Spengler made it a Mercedes 1-2, qualifying second just 0.052 seconds behind.

Reinging champion Timo Scheider was third fastest and best Audi-driver. Ralf Schumacher showed improved form and was last driver to make it in to the fourth qualifying session.

Last race winner Gary Paffett was just five thousands of a second from making it to the final qualifying session, but had to settle for fifth ahead of Mattias Ekström.

Oliver Jarvis and Miguel Molina rounded off top eight.
