Mattias Ekström ready for NASCAR oval debut

Mattias Ekström is going to do his first oval race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series this weekend.
“It is going to be an interesting week and a very exciting first oval race,” said Ekström.

The Swede is going to drive the number 83 car for the Red Bull team, the same team he drove for in his NASCAR debut at Infineon Raceway earlier this year.

This time Richmond International Racewa, a ¾-mile D-Shaped oval, hosts the NASCAR race that Ekström is going to take part in.

“Driving against 43 cars on a completely new track, it is going to be really tough. I have to learn everything real quick and it is my goal to do that and make a good impression,” said Ekström.
