Mercedes on top in Hockenheim first practice

Mercedes claimed the top three positions in the first practice session for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters at Hockenheim. Championship leader Bruno Spengler was fastest, setting the time 1:20.623.

Gary Paffett was just 0.022 seconds slower than Spengler while Maro Engel, in third, was 0.118 seconds behind.

Alexandre Prémat was fastest Audi-driver in fourth, 0.198 seconds behind the fastest time of the session.

Mike Rockenfeller set the fifth fastest time ahead of Jamie Green and Paul Di Resta.
