Separate worlds for Di Resta and Spengler

Mercedes-drivers Paul Di Resta and Bruno Spengler had completely different race days at Hockenheim. Di Resta scored his third straight win at Hockenheim while Spengler retired and lost the championship lead.
“My C-Class was unbeatable, we had the best strategy and our team did an excellent job – thank you to everybody, this was really great!” said Di Resta.

Spengler has been in the lead of the championship since the beginning of the season and has been consistent.

“Of course, I am initially disappointed; however, I knew that would happen one day after I didn’t retire so far this year. That’s racing,” said Spengler.

There is just three points between Di Resta and Spengler ahead of the two remaining races and both drivers have their sights set firmly on the title.

“The championship battle doesn’t look so good for me now, but I will continue to fight and anything can happen in the final two races – I am positive throughout and do not worry. I will give it my all to win the title,” said Spengler.

“It’s nice to lead the overall ranking, but it will be an exciting battle until the end,” said Di Resta.
