Prémat: “The most severe accident ever”

Alexandre Prémat got involved in one of the biggest crashes ever in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.
“This was the most severe accident I’ve ever had,” says the Frenchman.

The Audi-driver collided with Maro Engel during the race at Adria in Italy, sending Prémat spinning straight in to the barriers and rolling several times.
“I just thought ‘when will the car finally come to rest’?” said Prémat.

The Audi A4 of Prémat has been sent to Audi Sport in Ingolstadt for further examination.
“Obviously we’d rather not see such crash tests during a race but they provide valuable data. That Alex came out of the accident in such good shape shows that we’re heading in the right direction in the DTM, where safety is our top priority,” said Audi Motorsport boss Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich.

Prémat is currently on the way to New York to take part in the legendary marathon through the big city. And the Frenchman is trying to put the accident behind him and look forward.
“I’d like to quickly forget that. I’m looking ahead and am already excited about going to Shanghai,” said Prémat.
