Dunlop confirms DTM exit after 2010
Dunlop has confirmed today that they are not going to continue their tyre supply deal with the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters after 2010.
“Dunlop, one of the long-term partners of the DTM fraternity, represents a true loss. But the fact that we part on good terms speaks for the partnership we had,” said Thomas Betzler, vice-chairman of the ITR e.V. board.
The DTM organization is currently negotiating with new tyre suppliers for the 2011 season.
Hankook tyres are believed to be the main contender for the deal in 2011. Gary Paffett and Mattias Ekström recently performed a test day at Hockenheim on the new tyres and both drivers reported to have been pleased with the performance of the tyres.
