No new Mercedes for David Coulthard in 2011

David Coulthard is not going to be behind the wheel of a new Mercedes C-Class in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters next year, if he decides to continue.
“The 2008 and ’09 cars are quite well balanced at the moment, so [promotion] is not a discussion. You can really show what you can do in the old car. David could have had better results this year, but he was learning,” said Mercedes Motorsport boss Norbert Haug to Autosport.

A deal for 2011 is still under discussion between Mercedes and the former Formula One-driver.

“I hope David will continue, and we are talking. I think he did a great job – to finish your first year with points and the fastest lap in the final race is very impressive,” said Haug.
