Rockenfeller heads Audi 1-2-3 in Hockenheim test

Mike Rockenfeller headed an Audi 1-2-3 in the first test of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season opener at Hockenheim. The German lapped the track in 1:35.085, four tenths faster than Timo Scheider and six tenths faster than Mattias Ekström.

Best Mercedes driver was newcomer Christian Vietoris in the Junge Sterne AMG Mercedes C-Class, just five thousands of a second slower than Ekström, ahead of an Audi newcomer in the form of Edoardo Mortara in fifth.

Ralf Schumacher, Bruno Spengler and Gary Paffett rounded off the top eight, all within eight tenths of a second from the fastest time of the session.

Testing at Hockenheim resumes tomorrow at 09.25 CET.
