Fighting season start for Gary Paffett

Gary Paffett did not get the season start he wanted. The Brit went off track in qualifying, meaning that he had to start last on the grid and fight hard up through the field.
“After the issues in yesterday’s qualifying session I knew it was going to be a challenge to come away with any points at all,” said Paffett.

Paffett made a strong start, passing four drivers in to the first corner and continued his chase to finally finish sixth from 18th on the grid.

“It is a fantastic result to finish in P6 after starting the race at the back on the grid. There were no DNFs amongst the top ten so it was brilliant to have a genuine fight up into sixth place,” said Paffett.

DTM continues at Zandvoort on the 15th of May and Paffett is aiming for a victory.

“After this strong performance, my target is to win the next race. My THOMAS SABO AMG C-Class is good enough for that, so I’m optimistic,” said Paffett.
