Second consecutive pole for Bruno Spengler
Bruno Spengler claimed his second consecutive pole position of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters 2011 season. The Mercedes driver lapped Zandvoort in 1:31.805, giving him pole position with 0.135 seconds ahead Jamie Green.
Audi failed to live up to the strong performance in practice with Mike Rockenfeller as best Audi driver in third, two tenths slower than championship leader and pole man Spengler.
Martin Tomczyk claimed fourth ahead of Gary Paffett. Timo Scheider, who was fastest in the two previous practice sessions, only managed sixth ahead of Edoardo Mortara and Ralf Schumacher.
Miguel Molina and Filipe Alburquerque rounded off top ten on the grid ahead of the second DTM race of 2011. Mattias Ekström, who is second in the championship, struggled in qualifying and is going to start 16th.
