Mercedes domination in Red Bull Ring first test
Bruno Spengler headed a Mercedes dominated first test session at Red Bull Ring in Austria. The championship leader lapped the track in 1:25.934, just 0.046 seconds faster than fellow Mercedes driver Jamie Green, with five Mercedes drivers in the top.
Gary Paffett was third fastest, just 0.117 seconds behind Spengler. Renger van der Zande and Christian Vietoris were evenly matched in fourth and fifth, just three thousands of a second apart.
Miguel Molina was best Audi driver in sixth, 0.136 seconds slower than Spengler. Ralf Schumacher was final Mercedes driver in the top ten ahead of three Audi drivers in the form of Martin Tomczyk, eight, Filipe Albuquerque, ninth, and Mike Rockenfeller in tenth.
The test session was really close with the entire 18 car field within one second and 17 cars within half a second.
