Tomczyk leads close warm up at Red Bull Ring

Martin Tomczyk was once again fastest as the DTM field completed the morning warm up session at Red Bull Ring. The times were really close in the session, with the top seven being within one tenth of a second.

Maro Engel was second fastest, seven thousands of a second behind Tomczyk, and championship leader Bruno Spengler in third, a further 0.026 seconds behind.

The two former F1 drivers David Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher occupied positions four and five with just two thousands of a second in between.

DTM newcomers Edoardo Mortara and Renger van der Zande claimed sixth and seventh ahead of Jamie Green, Christian Vietoris and Oliver Jarvis.

Mattias Ekström, who crashed in qualifying, struggled to find the pace in warm up and was 17th fastest, 1.187 seconds off Tomczyk’s time.
