Nissan wants FIA to support new DTM regulations

Nissan wants the FIA to support the new DTM regulations, set to be introduced in 2012.
“We need a global organisation such as the FIA to be involved to make the category credible,” said Shoichi Miyatani, President of Nissan/Nismo Motorsport, to Autosport.

The Japanese Super GT series is currently negotiating with the DTM organisation to introduce the new regulations.

“It [the category] needs not to be just in Germany and Japan, it must be global,” said Miyatani.

The merger of rules between DTM and Super GT has however been hit by a financial setback, according to Autosport, due to the recent earthquake disaster in Japan.
