First roll-out for the new BMW M3 DTM
BMW has completed the first roll-out session with the new BMW M3 DTM car at their own test track in Aschheim, Germany.
“Obviously it is a very special occasion when a new car such as the BMW M3 DTM drives out of the garage for the first time,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.
BMW is going to reveal a DTM concept car on the 15th of July in Munich, a car that is going to change a lot in appearance until the first race of 2012.
“This marks yet another step towards our first race in 2012. However, many more steps have yet to follow. The car used for the roll-out plus the Concept Car, which will be unveiled on 15th July in Munich, give a first taste of what our 2012 challenger will look like. We expect a lot to change visually on the car before the first race,” said Marquardt.
BMW will continue testing with the first car at the BMW test track, followed by the construction of more cars that will be handed over to the three DTM BMW teams: BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW Team RBM and BMW Team RMG.
