Ekström takes Audi’s 60th DTM pole position

Mattias Ekström secured Audi’s 60th pole position in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters at Nürburgring today. The Swede secured pole ahead of Jamie Green in second and Mike Rockenfeller in third.

Championship leader Bruno Spengler secured fourth ahead of Edoardo Mortara and Miguel Molina.

Title challenger Martin Tomczyk secured seventh on the grid for the race tomorrow, right ahead of Timo Scheider and Renger van der Zande. David Coulthard was final man in to the top ten.

The track was dry for the first three Q-sessions while the rain started to fall in the fourth session, visible in the extra eight seconds in the lap times of top four.
