Rockenfeller secures first ever DTM pole

Mike Rockenfeller secured pole position at Brands Hatch, his first ever in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. The Audi driver lapped the British circuit in 42.090, about two tenths faster than local driver Gary Paffett in second.

Martin Tomczyk secured third and a good position in the title fight with Bruno Spengler as the Mercedes driver is going to start sixth thanks to his two-place grid drop.

Jamie Green claimed fourth on the grid ahead of last race winner Mattias Ekström.

Ralf Schumacher, who topped the final practice session, is going to start seventh ahead of Miguel Molina and Edoardo Mortara. Maro Engel rounded off top ten.
