Spengler penalized with two-place grid drop

Championship leader Bruno Spengler has been penalized with a two-place grid drop ahead of the DTM race at Brands Hatch. The Canadian was found to have used a set of unmarked slick tyres during the free practice that were not allocated to his car.

The penalty means that if Spengler, for example, claims pole position, he is going to be dropped to third place for the race tomorrow.

Spengler’s team, HWA, has also been fined 5 000 euro for the regulation breach.
