Ekström clinches second victory at wet Oschersleben
Mattias Ekström secured his second win of the season in dominating fashion at a very wet Oschersleben. The Swede started fourth but was in the lead early on and pulled up a big lead to win with over 40 seconds ahead of championship leader Martin Tomczyk.
Tomczyk, who pulled off a great drive through the field from 14th on the grid, extended the championship lead to nine points over Bruno Spengler.
Spengler was on his way to second place in the race, but fell back due to a damaged suspension and ultimately retired due to brake problems with just two laps left.
Third went to Edoardo Mortara, just over a second behind Tomczyk over the line. Mortara was challenged by Timo Scheider, but the double DTM champion had to retire due to an overheating engine.
Gary Paffett drove a strong race from the back of the grid to finish fourth, right ahead of Christian Vietoris in fifth, securing his best ever finish.
Mike Rockenfeller claimed sixth ahead of Maro Engel and Miguel Molina. The Spaniard started from pole position, but braked too late in to the first corner and managed to spin Scheider while rejoining the track.
Oliver Jarvis and David Coulthard rounded off the top ten.
