Rast, Vernay and Stanaway to test for BMW

René Rast, Jean-Karl Vernay and Richie Stanaway are going to test for BMW at EuroSpeedway Lausitz.
“We are delighted to be able to offer a selection of talented, young drivers like René Rast, Jean-Karl Vernay and Richie Stanaway, the opportunity to test our BMW M3 DTM,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.

Rast, 24 years old from Germany, won the Porsche Supercup last year and has previously driven SEAT León Supercopa and Volkswagen Polo Cup. Veray, 23 years old from France, is the reigning Indy Lights champion and has driven Formula 3 and Formula Renault. Stanaway, 19 years old from New Zealand, is the newly crowned German Formula 3 champion.

“They have already proven their ability in various racing series and we are now looking forward to seeing them in our DTM car. At the same time, the focus at the Lausitzring test will once again be to gather important information and data on the BMW M3 DTM, as we continue to prepare for the 2012 season,” said Marquardt.

The trio is going to join BMW works drivers Augusto Farfus, Andy Priaulx, Jörg Müller and Dirk Werner during the tests with teams Schnitzer, RBM and RMG.
