Miguel Molina claims final DTM pole of 2011
Spaniard Miguel Molina claimed the final pole position of the 2011 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season. The Audi driver lapped Hockenheim in 1:32.717, two tenths faster than Mercedes driver Jamie Green in second.
Champion Martin Tomczyk, who topped the first practice session was third fastest ahead of Mike Rockenfeller and Timo Scheider.
Bruno Spengler bounced back from a modest result in both practice sessions with sixth fastest time, four places ahead of main rival for the runner-up spot in the championship: Mattias Ekström. The Swede is going to start tenth after failing to make it to Q3.
Gary Paffett claimed eighth on the grid ahead of Oliver Jarvis and Filipe Albuquerque.
Edoardo Mortara, who is going to start 11th in the race tomorrow, played a role for drivers in Q2 as the Italian went off track towards the end of the session. The yellow flags stopped all drivers to improve their lap times at that time.
