Nürburgring signs three-year deal with DTM

Nürburgring has signed a contract for three new years in the DTM calendar with organising body ITR.
“For a long time, now, DTM as the most popular international touring-car series has established as one of the Nürburgring’s motor-racing season highlights,” said Jörg Linder of Nürburgring Automotive GmbH.

Linder welcomes the return of BMW in DTM 2012, a return which he believes will bring even more fans to the track.

“The BMW fans will be thrilled by the comeback of BMW on the top levels of motor racing. The premium manufacturer definitely will be an additional crowd-puller,” said Linder.

The DTM has raced on legendary Nürburgring for over 20 years, including the long Nordschleife version of the track, as seen in the video below from the 1993 season.
