Bruno Spengler set for first BMW M3 DTM test

Former Mercedes driver and newly signed BMW driver Bruno Spengler is going to perform his first test with the new M3 DTM next week.
“We would like to thank Bruno’s current employer Mercedes most sincerely for releasing him early for the tests. We appreciate this sporting gesture, which goes to show how well we co-operate behind the scenes. Now we can look forward to his first laps with our BMW M3 DTM, and his initial impressions of the car,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.

The Canadian is going to test the BMW at the Monteblanco circuit in Spain for three days, 15th to 17th November, alongside drivers from Audi and Mercedes.

Spengler will be joined by BMW drivers Augusto Farfus and Dirk Werner as all three BMW teams will be at the test, Team Schnitzer, Team RBM and Team RMG.

New to the BMW DTM testing team is American Joey Hand, who drove in the ALMS together with Dirk Müller.

“We are equally looking forward to the feedback from Joey Hand, who has enjoyed a superb ALMS season together with Dirk Müller. Dirk has already had various opportunities of testing the BMW M3 DTM. Joey’s test also proves how tightly our various motorsport campaigns mesh together. In Monteblanco we will continue with our hard work. We believe that southern Spain will provide the best conditions, which should enable us to complete our comprehensive test programme, to amass data and further develop our BMW M3 DTM in all areas,” said Marquardt.
