BMW 1-2 in first Lausitzring free practice

BMW claimed the first two positions in Lausitzring free practice with reigning champion Martin Tomczyk fastest ahead of team mate Joey Hand in second. Mattias Ekström completed the top three for Audi with 1:20.142.

Christian Vietoris was right on pace in fourth, only 0.086 seconds from Tomczyk’s best time of the session. David Coulthard was second best Mercedes in fifth, with Miguel Molina in sixth.

Augusto Farfus Jr. claimed seventh time, 0.223 seconds from the fastest time, with Roberto Merhi in eighth and Filipe Albuquerque in ninth. Timo Scheider rounded off the top ten, 0.261 seconds from the top.
