Christian Vietoris gets grid penalty for blocking

Christian Vietoris has been penalized with a two-place grid drop for the DTM race at Brands Hatch. The penalty was awarded as the stewards found the Mercedes driver to have blocked Bruno Spengler during today’s qualifying session at Lausitzring.

Spengler, who went on to take pole position for BMW, was according to the stewards deliberately blocked by Vietoris during the Q2 session.

The penalty is not going to be awarded for the race this weekend, but the next DTM round at Brands Hatch on the 20th of May.
