Jamie Green: “I was grinning from ear to ear”

Jamie Green answered for the most spectacular DTM race finish so far this year after climbing from third to first in the two final laps and claiming the lead in the very last corner from BMW’s Martin Tomczyk.
“My Mercedes AMG C-Coupé was running superbly, and I was grinning from ear to ear on those last few laps,” said Green.

Green was fourth for the majority of the race but started to gain quickly on the leading BMWs of Tomczyk and Bruno Spengler as the track got drier towards the end of the race.
“My tyres were giving excellent grip on the last ten laps and my pace was very strong,” said Green.

The Mercedes driver made a decisive move in the final corner of the race, throwing his car on the inside of Tomczyk with some contact on the exit of the corner.
“At the end of an amazingly exciting race, I capped it all off by overtaking Bruno Spengler and Martin Tomczyk,” said Green.

The victory is Green’s fourth at Norisring, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012, meaning that the Brit has taken half his DTM victories at this track.
“I am absolutely delighted about this win. It’s my fourth on this track and also the tenth on the trot for Mercedes-Benz at the Norisring. So a fantastic day all round,” said Green.
