Filipe Albuquerque on his own in first Nürburgring practice
Audi driver Filipe Albuquerque was on his own in the first practice session at Nürburgring, setting a time that was close to four tenths faster than his closest rival in the form of manufacturer colleague Mattias Ekström.
Audi claimed the top three positions with Mike Rockenfeller in third, 0.539 seconds from first, perhaps marking a first strong weekend for Audi after a struggling first part of the season.
Jamie Green was best non-Audi driver for Mercedes in fourth position, six tenths behind, with Miguel Molina in fifth and Adrien Tambay in sixth, making it five Audis in the top six.
Championship leader Gary Paffett was second best non-Audi driver in seventh ahead of Edoardo Mortara and best BMW driver in the form of Dirk Werner. Ralf Schumacher was final driver in to the top ten.
