Audi dominates as Scheider claims first pole of 2012

Timo Scheider claimed his first pole position of 2012 at Zandvoort. The double DTM champion headed four of his manufacturer colleagues as Audi claimed the top five positions on the grid.

Mike Rockenfeller was second fastest, three tenths behind, with Filipe Albuquerque in third, Edoardo Mortara in fourth and Mattias Ekström in fifth.

Best non-Audi driver was Jamie Green, who topped the first free practice, in sixth for Mercedes ahead of best BMW driver in the form of Dirk Werner in seventh.

Championship leader Gary Paffett had yet another tough qualifying session and will start eighth in the race tomorrow, ahead of Christian Vietoris and Adrien Tambay.

Previous race winner Bruno Spengler had an even worse qualifying session and will start 18th of 22 cars.
