Timo Scheider fastest in wet second practice

Timo Scheider topped the second practice session but was more or less the only driver able to complete a lap time early in the session on slicks before the rain hit the Zandvoort track.

Adrien Tambay was second fastest, 2.2 seconds behind, with Robert Wickens being fastest of the Mercedes drivers in third.

Christian Vietoris and Mattias Ekström rounded off the top ten, seven seconds from Scheider’s dry lap time.

The slippery conditions caused several offs with Ralf Schumacher planting his Mercedes in the gravel, as well as Miguel Molina.
