Mattias Ekström leads Audi 1-2-3 in FP2

Audi dominated the second Free Practice session at Hockenheim. Mattias Ekström emerged as the fastest of all with a great lap towards the end of the session, leading a 1-2-3 completed by Mike Rockenfeller and Edoardo Mortara.

Fourth place was grabbed by Dirk Werner in the dying moments of the session, the German lapping two tenths slower than the leader, with Timo Scheider’s Audi right behind him.

Sixth was Valencia race winner Augusto Farfus for BMW again, while leading Mercedes driver and championship leader Gary Paffett was seventh. Martin Tomczyk came eighth ahead of Adrien Tambay and Joey Hand, who rounded up the top ten.

Championship contender Bruno Spengler came twelfth, almost half a second slower than Ekström, while Jamie Green, who is still in with a chance of winning the title, in fourteenth, six tenths off the pace.

David Coulthard came fifteenth in his last DTM Free Practice session, while Susie Wolff, who also announced her retirement yesterday, came last, one and a half seconds slower than Ekström.
