BMW 1-2-3 in final Hockenheim test day

BMW claimed the top three fastest time on the final test day at Hockenheim. Augusto Farfus Jr. was the fastest of the trio with 1:32.976, two tenths ahead of reigning champion Bruno Spengler and three tenths ahead of former F1 driver Timo Glock in third.

“Noticing an upward trend from one test to another makes me feel good. Hopefully, this trend will also continue during the first race at Hockenheim. In Formula 1, I wasn’t used to such a late start into the season, but surely, my maiden DTM race for BMW at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg in front of packed grandstands will be an undisputed highlight in my career. For me, a new era begins,” said Glock.

Best non-BMW driver was Mercedes’ Christian Vietoris in fourth, 0.477 seconds from Farfus’ time, with Pascal Wehrlein a further tenth behind.

Top Audi driver was Mike Rockenfeller in sixth position, 0.654 seconds from the top, with Andy Priaulx in seventh and Robert Wickens in eighth. Filipe Albuquerque and Mattias Ekström rounded off the top ten.

The DTM season starts on the 5th of May at Hockenheim.
