Dani Juncadella: “It was game over”
Mercedes’ Dani Juncadella has said it was “game over” after he made contact with Audi’s Miguel Molina at the Moscow Raceway.
The two Spaniards came together on the opening lap of the inaugural Russian round of the DTM, and despite both cars being able to continue after the contact, Juncadella said he felt it was “game over” for his race from that point due to severe damage to the rear of his car.
“The first lap went well, but then I was hit from behind and pushed into the man in front,” said the RSC Mucke driver. “Then Miguel Molina caught my rear and my car was pretty badly damaged. After that, it was game over with regards to pace.
“Actually, there isn’t much more to say [as] I was just doing the rounds. This race here in Moscow was just awful.”
Gary Paffett finished as the highest placed of the Mercedes drivers in fifth place.
